If you have started a new medication or your dosage has changed, it is normal to have questions or notice new symptoms. Your safety is our priority.
If you have mild or non‑urgent side effects
Examples: mild nausea, slight headache, mild dizziness.
- Do not stop taking the medication without speaking to a doctor, unless the symptoms are clearly worsening.
- Write down your symptoms (when they started, how often they appear, how intense they are).
- Contact the clinic via patient portal or phone and ask to speak with your doctor or nurse to review your treatment.
If you have severe or worrying symptoms
Examples: difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, intense chest pain, loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding.
- Stop taking the medication immediately.
- Call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.
- Inform the emergency team about the medication you were taking and the dose.
If you just have questions
If you are unsure how or when to take your medication, or how it interacts with other treatments:
- Check the information leaflet that comes with the medication.
- Use the patient portal to send a non‑urgent message to your doctor.
- Bring all your medications (or a list of them) to your next appointment so the doctor can review them with you.
Never share your prescription medication with other people and never change the dose on your own without medical advice.
